The Seybert Institution makes grants to qualifying tax-exempt organizations that serve poor boys and girls in the city of Philadelphia. The foundation does not support organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, ethnic origin, sexual or religious preference, age or gender.
Generally grants range up to $7,500 and are made on a one-year basis. Recipients must provide a detailed narrative and financial report on how the funds were spent.
The deadline for requests for after school and summer programs is March 17. The deadlines for other grant requests are January 2 and October 1.
Requests for after school program cover the next academic year (2008-2009) and requests for summer programs should cover the current year (2008).
No more than one request will be considered in one calendar year except under special circumstances. Grants for capital expenditures are not a priority of the Seybert Institution.
