Qualifying
tax-exempt organizations are eligible for grants. Generally
grants do not exceed $5,000 and are made on a one-year
basis. Organizations that have received continuous funding
for five years are asked to refrain from requesting further
support for a two-year period.
Recipients of grants must provide
narrative and financial reports on how the funds were
spent within one year of the grant payment. For grants
of $2,000 or less a copy of the Annual Report will serve
as a grant report.

Educational
or other projects that have potential for positive social
change and benefit disadvantaged people are the major
priorities of the Douty Foundation.
Grants are
sometimes made to small organizations for general operations.
Preference
is given to organizations that operate in Philadelphia
and Montgomery counties, PA.
Grants for
capital expenditures or endowments are not a priority
for the Douty Foundation, nor are grants for agency promotion,
such as marketing, development, publication of annual
reports or sponsorship of fund-raising events.
Grants are
not made for religious or political purposes.
Organizations
with annual budgets greater than $2 million are discouraged
from applying for grants.
