APPLICATION PROCEDURES

The deadlines for grant requests for Regular Programs are the 15th of February, May and October.

The deadline for grant requests for Summer Programs is March 15.

The Douty Foundation now accepts applications online. Click here or go to https://www.grantinterface.com/Douty/Common/

Although online applications are preferred, paper applications will still be accepted.

No more than one request from an organization will be considered within a twelve-month period except under special circumstances.

Receipt of proposals will be acknowledged if applicants include their email address or enclose an addressed envelope or label.

REGULAR PROGRAMS (for paper applications)

Please include one copy of the proposal and seven copies of the Cover Sheet.

The following information is required:

  • Name and purpose of the applicant organization
  • Purpose of the grant
  • Special nature of the project
  • Leadership involved in the project
  • Evidence that staff involved in projects is able to work with and understand the needs of the people to be served
  • Amount of funds requested; amount of funds needed
  • Other funds available or anticipated
  • Financial reports, including most recent audited annual report, annual budget and balance sheet
  • Leadership of the organization, including Board of Trustees/ Director
  • Determination letter showing that the organization is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and that it is not a private foundation under Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code
